Brandon Whitcher is currently a Director at the GlaxoSmithKline Clinical Imaging Centre (CIC). Brandon spent two years at EURANDOM, a European research institute for the study of stochastic phenomena, and two years in the Geophysical Statistics Project at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR). He has supported both pre-clinical and clinical MRI groups at GlaxoSmithKline and now is responsible for a group of PhD-level scientists who provide quantitative image analysis at the CIC. During this time Brandon has contributed several OSS packages to the R community: waveslim, DICOM, and maintains Rwave. Brandon holds a PhD in Statistics from the University of Washington.
Volker Schmid is currently an assistant professor in the Institut für Statistik at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München. Volker spent four years at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Imperial College London, applying Bayesian methodlogy to MRI for cancer and cardiac studies. Volker holds a PhD in Statistics from LMU München.
